The Netherlands and Germany 2004

Day 1 and Day 2

Amsterdam

I started out in Amsterdam. I was staying at the KAP hotel, which was fairly pleasant, and had a nice breakfast buffet the following morning. My room had a shared toilet, but my own shower and washbasin. It had a tv which got me BBC1 in the morning, and BBC2 in the evening.

Day 3 Nijmegen

Nijmegen is a very pleasant university town. Rush hour in Nijmegen seemed to be a queue of around 30 cars and a snarled up roundabout for about 10 minutes. The hotel I stayed in whilst I was there had an interesting historical background. In the Sionshof I had my own toilet shower and washbasin, and a TV.

Day 4 and Day 5 Cologne

Cologne was cool. It's got an excellent cathedral which took over 500 years to build! Some very good museums, and great food! In here are links to some of the most boring photo's I've ever taken (and I taken a few). These are the photos of the ruins of a Roman villa in the basement of St. Martin's church. They're just piles of bricks really. I stayed in the Callas Am Dom Hotel on Hohe Strasse, the busiest shopping street in the city. The room was fairly quiet, but the shower leaked onto the floor of the toilet. After 2 days, there was quite a large puddle in the carpet. The breakfast buffet was very nice.

Day 6 Amsterdam again, (and the worst hotel I stayed at) then Home
