The Basilica Fulvia-Aemilia

The Basilica Fulvia-Aemilia was built in 179 BC by Marcus Fulvius Nobilior and Marcus Aemilius Lepidus who were Censors that year. Over the years members of the Aemilia family restored the basilica many times and it became a family monument. The Basilica Fulvia-Aemilia is unique amongst buildings of its type in that, despite the many refurbishments, it has retained its form from the earliest days.
